The Dezső Oláh Vibratone Quartet is one of Europe’s most dynamically evolving jazz quartets, shaping its repertoire through rigorous rehearsal and collaboration. The band members have won numerous prestigious domestic and international awards and are regular participants in festivals and cultural events.
The band has made it its mission to introduce audiences to the sound of the vibraphone, in the hope that, by doing so, the audience will feel a closer connection to the world of contemporary collective improvisation as they discover the instrument’s capabilities and beauty. This season, we have placed the main emphasis on Hungarian music. We present gems from Béla Bartók’s collections of peasant folk music in a program titled “Bartók in Blue”.
Our ensemble and its members have performed to great acclaim in recent years at numerous Liszt Institutes and cultural events abroad: in Rabat, Kazakhstan, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Brussels, Paris, Bucharest, Serbia, Pristina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Stuttgart, and Warsaw.
