Pankastic! achieved groundbreaking success in its very first year, bringing a fresh perspective to the Hungarian pop music scene with its unique “Django-pop” style. Their blend of jazz and modern pop elements, combined with Panna Pálmai’s cheerful performance, makes them one-of-a-kind. Their first song, titled “Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter,” debuted on Petőfi Radio in 2014. Since then, they have released three albums; their fourth album, recorded with the Budapest Jazz Orchestra, was released in late 2024.
The band has given outstanding performances ranging from shows at MOM to sold-out concerts at MÜPA, featuring star guests such as Micheller Myrtill, András Hajós, and Gergő Oláh. They have performed to great acclaim at numerous domestic and international jazz festivals (Paloznak, Gere Jazz Festival, Bansko Jazz Fest, SZIGET, Volt Festival), and are regular performers at various events and weddings.
All members of the band are renowned artists. The band consists of Krisztián Oláh, a pianist who has won the Junior Prima, Artisjus, and Gramofon awards; Dániel Serei, a drummer who has received scholarships from Artisjus and Dezső Lakatos Ablakos; and György Orbán—one of Hungary’s most sought-after double bassists.
