The history of the Naár family in Hungary can be traced back to the 1750s, the time of their settlement. Their Swabian ancestors arrived in the area around the town of Sárospatak at that time. They quickly learned to cultivate local grape varieties and make wine. Their ancestors had been cultivating small vineyards for many generations prior to that. The Naár Családi Pince és Szőlőbirtok has followed in the footsteps of its ancestors. Ferenc Naár and Ferenc Naár Jr. run the family business, which operates within the World Heritage site of Hercegkút. The small flower symbol featured in the winery’s logo refers to the protected and rare mountain pasque flower found on Gombos Hill, above the World Heritage cellars. The winery primarily works with Furmint, Hárslevelű, and Sárgamuskotály grapes, and also produces aszú. They were awarded the title of “Wine of the City of Debrecen” in the sweet wine category in both 2025 and 2026.
