Disznókő Tokaj is both a historic name and a landmark of the wine region. The Disznókő vineyard, which gives the estate its name, was first mentioned as early as 1413, and the rebirth of the estate as we know it today began in 1992, when AXA Millésimes purchased it and ushered in a new era in the production of quality Tokaj wines.
One of Disznókő’s greatest strengths is its exceptional and diverse terroir, which forms a contiguous estate—a rarity in the Tokaj wine region. Their 107 hectares of vineyards are spread across a total of 150 hectares on the outskirts of Mezőzombor, spanning several historic vineyard plots, including Kapi, Dorgó, Lajos, and Hangács. The winery is one of the contemporary benchmarks for Tokaji aszú—having produced aszú from every vintage since 1992, with one exception—while also making a strong impression on the wine region with its dry, mineral-rich white wines. It is no coincidence that Disznókő has garnered international attention in wine tourism rankings in recent years; in 2025, it ranked 63rd on the list of the World’s 100 Best Vineyards.”
