Dobosi Pincészet

Balaton Wine Region - Szentantalfa

Behind the Dobosi name lies a history spanning several generations and a legacy of growth: the family has been an active participant in the local viticulture and wine culture since the 1700s, and the foundation for today’s winery was laid in 1988. The estate, located in Szentantalfa, has expanded significantly; today, they farm dozens of hectares and, in addition to wine production, welcome visitors with hospitality, lodging, and a restaurant. Their signature wine, Dobosi 1721, evokes the past while building the future: family continuity is not merely for show, but a cohesive force that remains active today. The winery began its transition to organic farming as early as 2002. Their organic farming practices combine centuries-old traditions with modern innovations—all without the use of chemicals. In the world of the winery, the wines of the Balaton Uplands, the landscape, and hospitality are closely intertwined, which is what makes the Dobosi Wine Estate both a guardian of tradition and a vibrant, living entity. In 2021, they also won the “Wine of the City of Debrecen” award for their 2019 Nivegy Valley Organic Olaszrizling, a premium white wine.
